Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction (Liposculpture) for the Arms

SmartLipo in conjunction with Tumescent Liposuction (Liposculpture) is a remarkable method for removing unwanted body fat from the arms of our patients in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm Beach and worldwide.*

Body Care achieves excellent results through a low pain, highly efficient process. The procedure is done using microcannulas that dissolve the fat cells and use a gentle suction massage to help remove the dissolved fat out of the arms providing excellent cosmetic results. Liposculpture of the arms is almost exclusively a procedure for women. During the initial consultation Dr Stratt will assess important factors such as age, weight gain and loss history, and the location and amount of the arm fat and hanging skin. This information will help Dr Stratt give the patient a realistic picture of what results can be expected from Smartlipo in conjunction with Tumescent Liposuction. The patient is also evaluated by the surgeon to determine if there are any health problems that might increase the risk of surgical complications.*

Success of Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction (Liposculpture) for the Arms

Most women want thinner arms which helps give the appearance of a thinner body. Unfortunately, exercise of the arms does not reduce the volume of fat located on the arms. Fortunately, Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction ( Liposculpture ) of the arms consistently results in a high level of patient satisfaction and happiness. Dr. Stratt uses microcannulas during the procedure resulting in well proportioned arms without visible surgical scars. A thin layer of residual fat should remain to insure a natural female appearance, softness and feel. Dr Stratt's experience, skill and artistry make him a preferred choice for Liposculpture surgery.*

The hanging skin from a fat arm which is held in a horizontal position can be reduced with Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction. By removing the weight of the fat on the skin, the effects of sagging are reduced dramatically and skin elasticity is greatly improved. Again, the goal is to obtain well proportioned arms without visible surgical scars.*

Anterior Axillary Fat Pads are located on the chest just in front of the arm-pit and become more prominent with age and with increasing degrees of obesity. Some relatively thin women have anterior axillary fat pads which are disproportionately large. A tight fitting bra can cause the fat pads to bulge in an unattractive manner above the bra. Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction of the anterior axillary fat pads using micorcannulas is often done at the same time as Liposculpture of the arms.

Posterior Axillary Fat Pads are located just behind the arm-pit on the side of the back which creates a cosmetic problem for some women. Often it is convenient to do Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction of the posterior axillary fat pads at the same time as Liposculpture of the arms.

Recovery from Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction (Liposculpture) of the Arms

Since Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction ( Liposculpture ) are performed using local anesthesia the risks and complications involved with general anesthesia are eliminated. Patients will be able to go home the same day as the procedure but should have someone else do the driving. Patients do not typically need any pain medication immediately after liposuction because the tumescent local anesthesia lasts for up to 18 hours. From 36 to 72 hours after surgery, patients experience the greatest degree of soreness and discomfort, and usually require a prescription pain medicine for a day or two afterward. Walking at a mild to moderate pace is highly recommended the first few days after the procedure, however, strenuous physical activity should be avoided for 7 to 10 days. The patient should shower at least once or twice daily beginning 24 hours after the day of surgery.*

Postoperative Care after Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction ( Liposculpture ) of the arms is relatively simple with just a moderate degree of compression necessary for a few days. Drainage from the arms usually lasts less than 48 hours after surgery. The arms, anterior axillary and posterior axillary areas require absorptive padding for only one to two weeks. The absorptive pads are best held in place with a torso compression garment. The patient can usually remove and re-apply these dressings without assistance. Since the incisions are small postoperative improvement is rapid. Virtually every patient improves significantly within a few days after surgery. Excessive compression may cause swelling of the forearms and hands.*

For most of our patients, liposculpture scars are very small and barely visible. The scars will appear as red or pink for six months and gradually fade. These scars are normally not a problem but patients should be aware that cosmetic plastic surgery scars are permanent and the size and the final color will depend on factors that are not totally predictable.*

quote I just had to let you know that I am in love with my new body. Even through the swelling, I have a small waist and flat stomach. Thank you so much! This surgery was worth every penny.* quote
