Improving the patient's physical appearance by removing as much fat as possible while avoiding any damage to skin or muscles is the goal for Smartlipo with Tumescent Liposuction ( Liposculpture ) of the male breasts. To achieve this goal Dr Stratt makes use of microcannulas which remove the fibrous tissue much easier than when using the larger cannula. Liposculpture of the male breast is one of the most commonly treated body areas for men. Male patients with excessive fat in their breasts can expect significant improvement with Liposculpture.*
Recovery from Smartlipo and Tumescent Liposuction (Liposculpture) of the Male Breasts - Gynecomastia
After liposculpture is completed, the adits are allowed to remain open (they are not closed with sutures) in order to maximize drainage of blood-tinged tumescent anesthetic solution. This drainage is absorbed by dressings held in place by a Garment. For additional compression, two foam pads are placed under the garment and over the breast to maximize compression.. Adequate compression during the first 18 to 24 hours after surgery is necessary to prevent bleeding and excessive bruising.*
For most of our patients, liposculpture scars are very small and barely visible. The scars will appear as red or pink for six months and gradually fade. The size and the final color will depend on factors that are not totally predictable.*
